Michael Tarnat has indicated he is ready to extend his stay at Manchester City.

Michael Tarnat has indicated he is ready to extend his stay at Manchester City.

The former Bayern Munich star, who turned 34 last Monday, signed a one-year deal in the summer with an option for another 12 months.

He claims he is enjoying his new life in England.

“If they want to make it one year longer it is not a problem for me,” he told BBC GMR.

“You can play a little bit longer when you are not injured or ill.

“When I met Kevin Keegan (City manager) for the first time we said we would make it for one year and if things went okay maybe I would stay on.”

Tarnat, who has become a fixture in the side, is expected to face Southampton on Saturday.
