Dancer Michael Flatley has cancelled all his latest European dates after being hospitalised with a serious illness.

A spokesperson for the 49-year-old Riverdance star says he has been receiving treatment for several days, but no further details about his condition have been disclosed.

His wife, Niamh O'Brien, is understood to be by his bedside at a hospital in London.

The European tour of Flatley's latest production, Celtic Tiger, was due to start in a few days, but all 20 dates have now been cancelled.
