Inter dominated the game, but were unable to convert their possession and chances into goals.

Francelino Matuzalem put Lazio ahead against the run of play in the 63rd minute before a touch of class from Tommaso Rocchi doubled their lead three minutes later.

He stole the ball off Olivier Dabo and lifted it into the path of Eto'o, who opened his account for Inter in style with a powerful volley into the roof of the net in the 78th minute.

Milito thought he had equalised in the 87th minute, but Eto'o was adjudged to be interfering with play from an offside position as he let the ball pass through his legs into the goal.

Eto'o went close to a second in stoppage time with a direct free-kick which missed the post by inches, but Lazio held on to win the Supercoppa for the third time in their history.
