GAA: Cregan returns to Limerick post

Eamonn Cregan has been reinstated as coach of the Limerick senior hurling squad despite stepping down from the position last weekend.

Cregan made a shock announcement that he was to resign after last weekend’s round of National Hurling League games but today marks a dramatic U-turn in the saga.

It was believed that Cregan was bitterly disappointed with the Limerick County Board’s attitude towards dual players and he wanted players to either dedicate themselves to just one code.

However, following last Thursday’s emergency Board meeting, Cregan is understood to have withdrawn his letter of resignation. Mossie Carroll, who was initially installed as Cregan’s successor will return to his position as assistant coach.
