Second case of swine flu confirmed in Cork

A second Cork hospital has confirmed an outbreak of swine flu.

Mercy University Hospital says one of its patients has contracted the H1N1 strain, with two further patients suffering from other forms of influenza.

It comes a week after Cork University Hospital confirmed its case of the virus.

Both hospitals say they have measures in place to stop the strain from spreading and are appealing to anyone with flu-like symptoms to contact their GP before attending emergency departments.
