The ISEQ index of Irish shares got the week off to a positive start this morning, rising 18.20 points to 8158.86 by 11.25 am.
The financial heavyweights however, enjoyed mixed fortunes. Anglo Irish Bank fell 15c to €12.80. Bank of Ireland fell 9c to €15.21 with AIB dropped 8c to €20.86.
Irish Life and Permanent gained 20c to €19.70.
Elsewhere bookmaker Paddy Power rose 10c to €14.50 while low-budget airline Ryanair rose 25c to €8.40.
