A man in his 20s has been killed in stabbing in Dublin this afternoon.

A man in his 20s has been killed in stabbing in Dublin this afternoon.

The attack happened in the car park of an apartment block at Larch Hill in Santry at around 3pm.

The man was taken by ambulance to Beaumont Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Gardaí arrested a man - also aged in his 20's - a short time after the incident.

He is being detained at Ballymun Garda Station where he can be questioned for up to 24 hours.

The scene has been cordoned off for a technical examination and the Office of the State Pathologist has been notified.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who has any information that could help with their investigation to come forward.
