Drowning victim's body identified

A body recovered from the sea in Co Clare has been identified as that of a man in his 70s, whose boat capsized in Kilkee Bay on Thursday.

A body recovered from the sea in Co Clare has been identified as that of a man in his 70s, whose boat capsized in Kilkee Bay on Thursday.

Members of Kilkee Sub Aqua Club recovered the body around 1pm today.

It has been removed to Ennis General Hospital and a post mortem is due to be carried out in Limerick tomorrow.

The elderly man was fishing with a friend when his boat overturned.

The second man was rescued from the water.
