Man due in court in connection with €6.5m drugs seizure

A 37-year-old man is due in court in Dublin later, charged in connection with a multi-million euro drugs seizure on Friday.

A 37-year-old man is due in court in Dublin later, charged in connection with a multi-million euro drugs seizure on Friday.

He is due to appear at Blanchardstown District Court.

Gardaí and Customs officers found cannabis worth €6.5m in Ballyfermot in Dublin and Newbridge in County Kildare.

Another man detained after the seizure, who is 43 years of age, was released without charge.

Two other men were arrested on Saturday as part of the investigation - one man has been relased without charge, while another who is in his 60's, remains in custody this morning.
