Police in Belfast have launched an investigation into an armed robbery at a school, during which a care-taker was assaulted.

Police in Belfast have launched an investigation into an armed robbery at a school, during which a care-taker was assaulted.

The masked gun-man followed him into the building on the Ballysillan road shortly after seven this morning

He then forced the caretaker to open the school safe, and hit him over the head several times with the gun.

The victim is now recovering in hospital - but his injuries are not serious.
