New urban national signposting has finally hit the streets after being put on hold for a year.

New urban national signposting has finally hit the streets after being put on hold for a year.

Transport Minister Seamus Brennan who ordered a redesign of Dublin City Council's directional signs has unveiled the revamped product at a south city junction.

Blue and purple colour-coding are being used to designate new inner and outer orbital ring routes.

They'll soon be erected in towns and cities across the country.

Minister Brennan admits they're long overdue.
