Peter Hoekstra is Stoke's only definite absentee for the Division Two play-off final against Brentford at the Milliennium Stadium.
The winger recently returned to training following an ankle injury he sustained in December.
But hopes that he might make the bench in Cardiff have been dashed.
Gudjon Thordarson's Stoke team have been plagued by injuries this season.
Now he is hoping that his patched-up side can clinch promotion.
Thordarson said: "The nation is complaining about two broken feet (those of David Beckham and Gary Neville) but I've been dealing with seven broken bones during the season.
"A whole nation complains about two broken bones; a small club like Stoke can find it very, very hard to cope with seven."
Brentford boss Steve Coppell has reported no new injury worries ahead of the final.
"I'm optimistic that we'll have all the runners ready to go on Saturday," Coppell told the club's official website.
