Oasis will be hoping to rediscover their former glory with the release tomorrow of The Hindu Times, their first single for nearly two years.
The record is the first track from their forthcoming album Heathen Chemistry, which is out in July.
Their last album, Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants, was poorly received and their last single, Sunday Morning Call, peaked at number four in July 2000.
But the band themselves remain as popular as ever and tickets for their summer gigs - their first outdoor UK shows for two years - were their fastest-selling ever.
The first two concerts on July 5 and 6 at London’s Finsbury Park sold out within two hours and extra dates had to be added to meet demand.
In the time since their last single was released, the Gallagher brothers appear to have settled down and sorted out their personal lives.
Noel, 34, has found happiness with PR girl Sara McDonald after divorcing Meg Mathews, mother of his daughter Anais.
And 29-year-old Liam has devoted his time to his nine-month-old son Gene and girlfriend, former All Saint Nicole Appleton.
The band have also displayed a more mature approach lately, with Liam recently confessing that he can no longer handle wild drinking binges.
At a charity gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall earlier this year, the band drank water and coffee and Liam even apologised after throwing a plastic bottle into the crowd.
But he returned to his old ways last month when he was pictured in a scuffle with doormen outside London’s Met Bar.
