Fianna Fáil has claimed that it is the only party being honest with the public about health.
Speaking in Dublin, Health Minister Micheal Martin attacked promises made the opposition and challenged Fine Gael and the Labour Party to publish their plans for health spending.
Fianna Fail, he said, would spend €8.8bn on the health service, €5bn of that on capital spending. Mr Martin claimed that Fine Gael wound spend 70% less than this on building and renovating hospitals.
