Gardaí are appealing for information about a suspect seen running from the scene of last night's fatal gangland shooting in Dublin's north inner city.

A 35-year-old man, reported to be one of the city's leading drugs dealers, was shot dead inside a car in the Summerhill area just after 8.30pm.

A 26-year-old man was also seriously injured in the shooting.

Both victims are believed to have been shot in the head by a person who was sitting in the back seat of the car.

A handgun believed to have been used in the attack was discovered a short time later in nearby Gloucester Place.

The Gardaí say a man, who may have been wearing a tracksuit, was seen running from the car and into the Gloucester Diamond area.

They are appealing for information from anyone who may have seen him.
