Gardaí in West Dublin are still questioning two men today in connection with separate drugs and firearms finds.

Around €900,000 worth of drugs were recovered in Castleknock and four machine guns were seized in nearby Mulhuddart.

As part of an on-going operation, gardaí from Blanchardstown and the Garda National Drugs Unit searched two house in Castleknock.

Approximately 45 kilos of herbal cannabis was found in one house. Around 600 cannabis plants and eight kilos of herbal cannabis were found in another.

A 53-year-old was arrested for questioning.

Meanwhile, a man in his mid-30s remains in Garda custody after four machine guns, silencers and ammunition were seized in an industrial estate in Mulhuddart.

The man was arrested at the scene and is being held at Kevin Street garda station.
