Beckett out for Harps ahead of Derry City clash

Derry City and Finn Harps meet in tonight’s eagerly anticipated north-west derby with both sides looking to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Derry City and Finn Harps meet in tonight’s eagerly anticipated north-west derby with both sides looking to maintain their 100% start to the season.

Stephen Kenny will have to plan without injured duo Sean Hargan and Mark McCrystal, but otherwise has a strong squad to choose from for his first match in the Brandywell since returning to Foyleside.

Harps have injury worries of their own as former Derry striker Gary Beckett will be denied a game against his former club due to a ligament injury ruling him out of action.

And Marc Mukendi and Jonathan Minnock are both definitely out, while both Stephen Parkhouse and Shaun Williams are both rated doubtful.

However, having scored in his first game in the Premier Division last weekend, Conor Gethins will be looking to cement his hero-status with the Harps faithful by sinking Derry City.

Kick-off at the Brandywell is at 7.45pm.
