Two people have been taken to hospital after a light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in a field in the North.

Two people have been taken to hospital after a light aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing in a field in the North.

The pilot and passenger are understood to have escaped serious injury in the incident close to the rural Ballynakilly Road near Cookstown.

The microlight landed around 12pm after experiencing difficulties.

The two occupants were taken to Craigavon Area Hospital.
