Edward Snowden joined Twitter this week, a move which , as you can imagine, generated a lot of buzz.
Snowden, who leaked classifed information from the NSA, is a contentious issue in the US with some considering a traitor and others a patriot.
Can you hear me now?

With that in mind, a US channel, HLN, was looking for someone to come on their The Daily Share show to defend Snowden's presence on Twitter .
Twitter satirist Jon Hendren, whose Twitter handle is @fart, was invited on and it quickly became clear that someone on the show didn't fully research their guest.
Host Yasmin Vossoughian asked Hendren what he thought of the information leak and he replied with the following:
"Well, you know, to say that he couldn't harm somebody with what he did — he could, absolutely, he could, but to cast him out, to make him invalid in society simply because he has scissors for hands — I mean, that's strange. People didn't get scared until he started sculpting shrubs into dinosaur shapes and whatnot."
Hmm…
And when asked why Snowden would move to Russia, he said:
Just because he was created on top of a mountain by Vincent Price, and incomplete, with scissors for hands and no heart... Edward Scissorhands is a complete hero to me."
Ah.
Vossoughians soldiered on despite more references by Edward Scissorhands before thanking Hendren for his opinion and closing the segment.
Needless to say , it was a bizarre piece of TV.
Hendren told Esquire that he was probably asked to come on the show as a result of an old tweet he had sent about Snowden:
He received an email from the show asking if he would like to go on and he agreed.
"I got an email last night asking if I wanted to come on and replied immediately saying, 'Yes I absolutely would,' before I even read the entire email."
