SIPTU is claiming that SR Technics has received a serious bid for the business in the past 24 hours which would save around 900 jobs at the Dublin Airport operation.

The aircraft maintenance company is to close fully by the end of August with the loss of 1,100 jobs, the first 600 of which will go this week.

Unions and management were at the Labour Court for talks today - it's to make a recommendation on the dispute as soon as possible.

SIPTU's Pat Ward says this latest management buy out bid would cost the exchequer less than it would to close the company.
