Three people have been hospitalised following a fire at an apartment block in Dublin city centre.

Three people have been hospitalised following a fire at an apartment block in Dublin city centre.

The blaze broke out in the underground car park of the building in Smithfield at around 5am this morning.

Around 25 residents were evacuated, and three people were rushed to Saint James’s Hospital.

Their condition is not yet known.

The road from Dorset Street to Smithfield junction has been closed while Gardai and the fire service carry out an investigation.
