Gardai in Donegal are continuing to question a man in connection with the death of Richie Barron, more than five years ago.

The 30-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of this morning for an offence under the Road Traffic Act and he is being held at Letterkenny Garda Station under Section Four of the Criminal Justice Act.

The original investigation into Co Donegal man Richie Barron’s death led to allegations of corruption against garda members in the county.

The allegations eventually led to the largest internal inquiry ever carried out in the history of the Garda Siochana.
