1m Christmas cards undelivered
An Post said tonight that up to one million Christmas cards and other mail have not yet been delivered.
It blamed the delays on an increase in volume and changes in processing systems.
Most of the undelivered post had been sent to addresses in the Dublin area, where an automated sorting system was introduced six weeks ago.
The company said that all the outstanding mail should be delivered tomorrow or Tuesday.
