The latest victim was a 17-year-old man who died following a crash near Draperstown, Co. Derry.

This death comes amid a weekend of carnage on Irish roads - yesterday evening a 24-year-old man was killed in a crash in Co Donegal.

The two-car collision happened near Inver - the man was pronounced dead at the scene, and a second man suffered serious injuries.

And, a 21-year-old woman was killed when the car she was travelling in crashed into a tree at Newcastle road in Limerick yesterday afternoon.

The driver of the vehicle was injured and is being treated at Limerick Regional Hospital.
