SJP's tears after final scenes

Sex and the City was coming to a tearful end as some of the final scenes were shot on the streets of New York yesterday.

Sarah Jessica Parker broke down after filming the last moments with co-star Cynthia Nixon.

More tears are likely to be shed today when Parker and fellow cast members Kristin Davis and Kim Cattrall appear before the cameras for the very last time.

Parker decided to bring the six-year series to an end last year, after she became pregnant.

But she is staying mum about how the series will end.

TV channel HBO has filmed several different endings in a bid to prevent the final story being leaked.

Parker has told in a number of interviews that the final days of filming would be painful.

Parker, who plays columnist Carrie Bradshaw, said last month that while it was her decision to pull the plug on the show, she had been reduced to tears thinking about filming the final episodes.

“It’s scary, but it’s the only way to go,” she said.

“This show has changed my life personally and professionally, and I can’t begin to know the great sadness that will envelop me when I leave these people.

“If I think too much about ending, I couldn’t show up for work every day. So I can’t allow myself even to ponder the great seismic shift,” she told the New York Post.
