Diplomats from a number of islands in the South Pacific are reported to be pressing the Government to reverse a decision to block all phone calls made to the islands.

Reports this morning said ambassadors from the Cook Islands and Solomon Islands were due to travel to Dublin next week in an effort to get the decision overturned.

The communications regulator ComReg decided to block all phone calls to 13 countries as part of a crackdown on an internet auto-dialling scam.
