Almost a third of people in Ireland want a Fianna Fáil / PD coalition to form the next government, while a significant majority would not favour a Fianna Fáil/Labour pairing.

The Fianna Fáil/PD coalition got 32 per cent while the Fine Gael/Labour and possibly Green party alternative got 29 per cent, in the latest TNS / MBRI opinion poll, more details of which were published in today's Irish Times.

Meanwhile the majority of people expect a Fianna Fáil / Labour coalition in the event of a hung Dail, but only 13 per cent would favour such a pairing.

Labour voters preferred a Fine Gael coalition rather than a Fianna Fáil alternative be a margin of 53 per cent to 36 per cent.
