Reilly: Govt planning free GP access for children

The health minister has said that the Government is working on schemes to ensure free GP access for every child.

Dr James Reilly said free access to doctors for children is "the first step" towards universal social insurance.

Dr Reilly told the MacGill Summer School that Ireland was trying to deliver 21st century healthcare in a 19th century system.

He also announced plans to publish more data about the health system to help patients choose their options.
