A Dublin taxi driver has been jailed for four and a half years after he was caught with over €200,000 worth of cocaine in his car.

Alan Rowe of Oxmantown Road, Stoneybatter, admitted having blocks of the drug in his boot after he was stopped by gardaí at Collierstown in Co Meath in January 2009.

The 58-year-old told them he developed a cocaine habit after his marriage broke up and agreed to transport the drugs to pay off a debt.
