SDLP leader Mark Durkan has met the Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, to discuss the ongoing impasse in the Irish peace process.
Mr Durkan has already expressed his concern about the lack of movement in the North and has called on the Irish and British governments to continue implementing the aspects of the Good Friday Agreement that do not rely on the existence of the suspended institutions.
Speaking after today’s talks, the SDLP leader said: “We can’t accept this continuing drift and drag and we believe that we can create the circumstances where we can all move forward.
"Even if we don’t have the full progress we need on paramilitary completion, we can still make progress that gives everybody as much of the agreement as we can possibly have and we can do that without going down the road of exclusion.”
