Injured student airlifted off mountain

A student with a broken arm has been airlifted from a Co Wicklow mountain.

A student with a broken arm has been airlifted from a Co Wicklow mountain.

The Irish Coast Guard Dublin-based helicopter was involved in the operation at Maulin mountain near Enniskerry.

Mountain rescue teams from the Glen of Immal and Wicklow were also involved.

The student was airlifted to Tallaght hospital.

Two teachers and 25 other students have returned to safety.

Weather conditions at the time were extremely windy, with gusts from 50 to 70 miles per hour as well as sleet and snow showers.
