A quiz show fanatic has scooped the jackpot on Who Wants to be a Millionaire?
Ingram Wilcox became the first person to win the top prize on the hit ITV1 quiz show in two-and-a-half years.
A civil servant from Bath, he first appeared on the show in 2004, but failed to get past the “fastest finger first” round.
Wilcox was said to be “absolutely delighted” at winning the £1m (€1.5m) prize after answering all 15 questions correctly.
He got over the final hurdle when host Chris Tarrant asked him: “Which of the following boxers rang the J. Arthur Rank gong?”.
Wilcox answered correctly: “Bombardier” Billy Wells.
Millionaire’s first winner was Judith Keppel, a distant cousin of Camilla Parker Bowles, in 2000.
Wilcox appeared on Mastermind in 1980.
