David Beckham is considering playing on in the Major League Soccer beyond the end of his contract.

The 35-year-old Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder has not yet decided what to do when his current deal expires at the end of the 2011 season, but is not ruling out staying in America.

"Yeah, you know, there's a chance," he was quoted as saying on www.lagalaxy.com. "I haven't made any decision about what I'm going to do after this year.

"At the end of the day, I am 35 years old, I'll be 36 in May and I'm getting older, so I'll need to see how my body feels at the end of the season, and if I feel that I can perform and continue, then I will continue.

"In a few months I will think about what I want to do and [decide]," he said. "I still love the game like I did when I was 21 years old and I still feel fit. I look after myself."

Beckham trained with Premier League side Tottenham earlier this year in the MLS off-season and boss Harry Redknapp expressed an interest in taking him to White Hart Lane in a playing capacity.
