Gardaí investigate burglary of elderly man
Gardaí in Co Cork are investigating a burglary at the home of an 89-year old man living alone in the Ovens area of West Cork.
At 8pm on Wednesday three men forcibly their way into the man's home and knocked him to the ground. He suffered a head wound as a result of this fall. His house was then ransacked.
He lay undiscovered until the arrival of a home help assistant today, at 11am.
He is currently in Cork University Hospital where his condition is described as comfortable.
