Coca-Cola unveil new rules jersey
Coca-Cola Ireland today unveiled a new Ireland jersey for the 2005 International Rules Series, as well as confirming their sponsorship of the hybrid game for another two seasons.
The jersey, which will be first worn on October 21 by Pete McGrath's Ireland side during the first test against Australia at Perth's Subiaco Oval, will be Coca-Cola branded.
Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland (CCBI) and the GAA also announced their agreement for another two seasons' of sponsorhsip for the Rules Series. The sponsorship forms a core part of CCBI's extensive support for GAA, involving an annual investment of in excess of €1m.
Mo Durkan, Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland, said of the sponsorship: "Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland is the longest running continuous sponsor of the GAA in the history of the organisation. We are very proud of our association with Gaelic games which form a key part of our active lifestyle initiatives.
"The popularity of the series continues to go from strength to strength each year and we're confident that with our continued support, the series will carry on attracting an ever-growing number of followers."
GAA President Sean Kelly added: "We have had a very successful working relationship with Coca-Cola Bottlers Ireland dating as far back as 1971. The company has worked with us for many, many years, actively promoting both interest and active participation in gaelic games.
"Working together I am very confident that the International Rules Series will continue to represent a very important part of the GAA calendar each year."
The Irish squad will depart for down under on October 15 ahead of their defence of the Cormac McAnallen Cup.
