Aer Lingus has announced a radical plan to rescue the company from serious economic trouble.

Aer Lingus has announced a radical plan to rescue the company from serious economic trouble.

The programme includes immediate suspension of all recruitment and overtime.

There may also be job losses as a review of flight schedules and staffing levels along with an assessment of all costs are also on the agenda.

The announcement of the move comes as the Labour Court continues efforts to prevent another crippling one-day stoppage going ahead next Thursday.
