Inquiry launched after body found in burnt-out car

A post mortem is to be carried out on the body of a person found in a burnt-out car in Dublin city centre.

A post mortem is to be carried out on the body of a person found in a burnt-out car in Dublin city centre.

The car was discovered on fire at Blackhall Place at around 5pm this evening.

Gardai were contacted and the area has been sealed off for technical examination.

The circumstances surrounding the discovery of the body in the rear of the car are being investigated.

It has not yet been determined if the deceased was a man or a woman.
