ISME, the group representing small and medium sized companies in Ireland is asking the Government to shift its focus from large foreign industry to small Irish businesses.

ISME, which is holding a conference in Kilkenny to mark its 10th anniversary, says there's too much reliance on foreign investment.

The group's Chief Executive, Mark Fielding, says the Government must realise the importance of smaller Irish firms.

Mr Fielding went on to say that it is the small and medium sized Irish businesses that will still be here when foreign multi-nationals have moved on to "greener pastures".
