The Irish couple who died in a car crash in the United States nine days ago are due to be laid to rest in Co Kerry today.

The Irish couple who died in a car crash in the United States nine days ago are due to be laid to rest in Co Kerry today.

Joe and Anne O'Connell both died when their van overturned while they were on a road trip in the state of Iowa on Sunday, June 14.

Their three children were also injured in the crash, including 15-year-old Sarah, who was driving the vehicle at the time.

The couple emigrated to the US several years ago and were living in the state of Wisconsin.

They will be buried together later today following funeral mass in Killure.
