Man escapes injury in Limerick shooting

A man in his 30s has escaped injury after being shot at on the outskirts of Limerick city last night.

A man in his 30s has escaped injury after being shot at on the outskirts of Limerick city last night.

The shooting happened at around 11.30pm in the Kiltera Estate in Dooradoyle.

Gardaí say two gunmen who had apparently been lying in wait for the man opened fire on him outside his home with a handgun.

The man's car and home were hit by the bullets, but he was unhurt in the attack.

Gardaí say he is very fortunate not to have been killed or seriously injured.
