Youth beaten with iron bars in Co Antrim

A 15-year-old youth is recovering in hospital in the North after a paramilitary-style punishment attack.

A 15-year-old youth is recovering in hospital in the North after a paramilitary-style punishment attack.

The victim was with a group of friends at Knockeen Road, Ballymena, Co Antrim, when they were approached by five or six masked men.

He was singled out and separated from the group before being beaten with iron bars.

It is understood he suffered broken legs and severe bruising in the attack.
