Grandfather of Monaghan baby wants Health board suspended

The grandfather of the child who died in Cavan hospital last week after her mother was refused service at Monaghan hospital because its maternity ward has been closed has called on the Minister for Health to stand down from the North Eastern Health board.

Jimmy Livingstone, whose granddaughter died after her mother Denise delivered her in an ambulance on her way to Cavan hospital last week, has called on the Minister for Health to suspend the North Eastern Health board.

Jimmy Livingstone says he received no answers from Minister Micheál Martin to his questions during a two-hour meeting this afternoon. He says he is disappointed with the outcome and has no faith in the Minister.
