Ireland’s Katie Taylor will bid for her third world title after a thrilling 18-16 win over American Queen Underwood.

Ireland’s Katie Taylor will bid for her third world title after a thrilling 18-16 win over American Queen Underwood.

Taylor will face a repeat of her 2008 final against China’s Cheng Dong, in the 60Kg category.

After running into an early lead, Taylor finished badly and looked to be heading out of the competition at 16-all. But two accurate punches in the final few seconds of the bout sealed the win for the Bray native.

The 23-year-old fighter described the semi-final as "tough", but added "a win's a win".
