Shamrocks won the battle of the Rovers at Tolka Park to advance to the FAI Cup semi-finals.

Shamrocks won the battle of the Rovers at Tolka Park to advance to the FAI Cup semi-finals.

Sligo were fuming when Shamrock goalkeeper Tony O'Dowd stayed on the field after a professional foul and saved the resultant penalty from Jason Moran on 36 minutes.

Shamrocks then went in front six minutes later when Billy Woods forced home after great work by Tony Grant.

The Premier Division side sealed their passage on 75 minutes when Sean Francis fired home a penalty after Grant had been taken down.
