Cork Harbour: MV Normandy not due here

The Cork Harbour authorities have said that they have not been contacted by Irish Ferries regarding the docking of the MV Normandy.

The Cork Harbour authorities have said that they have not been contacted by Irish Ferries regarding the docking of the MV Normandy.

The ship is en route from Cherbourg to Ireland this afternoon and was scheduled to dock in Rosslare later.

However, due to the escalating dispute between SIPTU Union workers and Irish Ferries, workers at Rosslare and Dublin ports have said they will not dock the ship.

As such it is unclear now where the vessel will be able to dock.

It was suggested that Cork Harbour was the next likely destination, but representatives there say that they do not expect the ship to come there as they have not been contacted regarding the possibility.
