Gardaí question man in connection with drugs seizure

Gardaí in Limerick are continuing to question a man in connection with the discovery of €60,000 worth of drugs and a number of firearms in the city on Friday.

Gardaí in Limerick are continuing to question a man in connection with the discovery of €60,000 worth of drugs and a number of firearms in the city on Friday.

The discovery was made following a series of searches by gardaí at Mayorstone and the Emergency Response Unit.

Mayorstone gardai recovered cocaine and cannabis along with a number of firearms and a quantity of ammunition following searches in the Ballynanty area.

Gardaí arrested two men but released one of them a short time later.

The other man has had his period of detention extended - he remains in custody at Henry Street garda station.
