Gardai in the midlands are investigating a two bank robberies in Counties Cavan and Westmeath this afternoon.

Gardai in the midlands are investigating two bank robberies in Counties Cavan and Westmeath this afternoon.

Two masked raiders entered one bank in Belturbet, Co Cavan at around 2pm and escaped with a small sum of money.

They fled in a small white car towards Clones in Co Monaghan.

In Co Westmeath, two armed raiders stole a sum of money from a bank in Moate shortly after lunchtime.
