A man and a woman are being questioned over the discovery of almost half a million euro worth of heroin in Dublin.

A man and a woman are being questioned over the discovery of almost half a million euro worth of heroin in Dublin.

Gardaí found the drugs following a planned search of an apartment in the Smithfield area of Dublin at 4.30pm on Tuesday evening.

It was part of an operation targetting organised crime in the South inner city.

The man and the woman, who are aged in their 20's, are being questioned at Kevin Street and Harcourt Terrace Garda Stations.
