Cabin crew at Aer Lingus have voted 92% in favour of the company's €97m cost-cutting plan in a second ballot.

IMPACT, which represents the workers, put the proposals to its members again on Monday following what it called "deeper clarification" of the proposals in talks at the Labour Relations Commission.

Three weeks ago, cabin crew rejected the plans by almost a two-thirds majority.

Following that rejection, Aer Lingus announced that it intended to terminate the employment of all 1,200 cabin crew and rehire most of them on inferior pay and conditions.
