Petite Belgian teenager Justine Henin will face defending champion Venus Williams today when the pair battle it out in the Wimbledon women’s singles final.

Henin secured her place after dashing Jennifer Capriati’s Wimbledon dreams in her comeback semi-finals clash.

Feisty 19-year-old Henin has only played at Wimbledon once before when she was knocked out in the first round last year.

The teenager and number eight seed refused to answer questions about her family following her semi-final win.

‘‘I just want to win. I have a good attitude. If I play against a strong player I just want to go. I’m not afraid of the size.

‘‘I’ve played already against Davenport, Williams, Capriati, everybody. I don’t mind about these kind of players because I can move well on the court, I’m so fast.

‘‘I can also be a strong player when I want. I don’t mind about my size. I proved that we don’t have to be very strong to win matches.’’

Williams, 21, will be defending her title after she entered the finals again when she beat fellow American Lindsay Davenport.

She said she was pleased to be in the Championships’ finals again.

‘‘I don’t like to go home without carrying a plate or a trophy or a title or something, so I think that’s motivation enough. I like winning here. Once you win, it’s addictive.’’

‘‘Justine’s a very good player and everyone wants to get to the finals. I feel comfortable going into the final. I have been there before and I think that my chances are good,’’ she added.

Williams is a statuesque 6ft 1in and weighs 72kg, compared to Henin’s small 5ft 5ins height and weight of 57kg.
